Me and my friend will be fishing for 3 days, 4 hours a day. The 1st day we will use nothing but top water lures to fish for Large MouthBass. The 2nd day we will use nothing but shallow lures. The 3rd day we will use nothing but deep divers.

We will be fishing Waxhachie Lake all over the place, we will fish on shore then on hardspots to get to and in the middle. We will decide on what lure will be the best for Waxahachie Lake. We predict that shallow lures will be the best bet! But we have to see after 3 days of fishing!

I will be posting more about the days we fish, the fish count, what type of lure and if it was a shallow or a deep diver or top. I will also be uploading pictures of the fishes and the lures we use to catch them.

Our fist day of fishing was okay, we fished for 4 hours and caught 6 Bass. We used top water lures such as Hula Poppers, Frogs, and Gitter bugs.
1st Bass 6” and weight 2 lbs 6 oz
2nd Bass 1’ 2” and weight 5 lbs 2 oz
3rd Bass 1’ and weight 4 lbs 0 oz
4th Bass 1’ 7” and weight 5 lbs 7 oz
5th Bass 8” and weight 2 lbs 1 oz
6th Bass 1’ 3” and weight 3 lbs 2 oz


Our second day of fishing was a bit better than the 1st day. We still fished for 4 hours but we only caught 4 fish but big ones! That’s better, well at least to me. We used shallow divers.
1st Bass 1’ 11” and weight 6 lbs 1 oz
2nd Bass 2’ 1” and weight 6 lbs 3 oz
3rd Bass 2’ 0” and weight 5 lbs 9 oz
4th Bass 2’ 5” and weight 6 lbs 6 oz


The third day of fishing was not really good. The worst day was the 3rd day. We only caught 2 fishes. Small and medium.

2nd Bass 1’ 8” and weight 2 lbs 0 oz

Over all the top water was the best to fish with in Waxahachie lake if you know how to use the lures. I would say if you would like to catch big fish, switch to shallow divers they bring more attentions. Deep divers might not work as well as other lures. You might need a fish finder to use deep divers. We did not have one and that might have been the problem. My friend and I used 2 Abu Garcia Silver Max and a Black Max. Lures, regular ones that you can buy at walmart.
